Our Mission

The mission of International Veterinary Health is to better the lives of people and animals though veterinary medicine, education, and research.

IVH is currently conducting research on the need for veterinary care among rural families and communities in remote areas of the Asia Pacific region:

Featured Project

Hooper Bay, Alaska

A remote Alaskan village on the banks of the Bering sea is home to approximately 1000 residents and accessible only by boat or plane. Local transportation was historically by dogsled but has largely been replaced by the snowmobile. Village dog populations have increased over time due to no access to veterinary care. Dr. Ellingson traveled to Hooper Bay to conduct free spays, neuters, vaccination and health checks. Dr. Ellingson and his team also gave presentations to the school children to raise awareness for proper animal care, vaccination and dog bite prevention.
