International Veterinary Health is a not-for-profit organization comprised of a diverse team of veterinary health professionals. Our vision is to use our knowledge and skills to improve the health of animals and people, particularly in remote and underserved areas of the world.
Our goal is to bring resources, training and ingenuity to areas with limited access to veterinary care. Through projects targeting emerging and re-emerging zoonotic diseases, the health and welfare of both children and animals in these remote areas can be improved. Highly trained veterinary volunteers working alongside local veterinary providers and agricultural leaders can partner to best meet the needs of the local animals and the communities that depend on them or interact with them.
We work to explore local needs and potential partnerships, coming alongside existing networks to strengthen and empower local families, farmers, and health providers.
IVH offers consulting services for a range of animal health needs and concerns. Our goal is to partner with existing networks to improve the health and outcomes for farmers, local veterinarians, animal health workers, and communities. Please call or email us and we will set up a time to discuss your needs and options for creating sustainable solutions. Our vision is to see healthier villages and communities through improving domestic and herd animal health and addressing any animal reservoirs for zoonotic disease.
Long term improvements to animal health and community health are best accomplished through active involvement of community members, health care workers, and local leaders. By providing education, we can make it possible for health improvements to be attainable and sustainable. Our IVH team will work with local and national leaders to design practical and understandable education programs to meet goals supporting local animal and community health. Our model of training emphasizes training community members to become local trainers and educators whenever possible.
With new animal health research and standards moving forward, our highly trained veterinary professionals can offer training in best practice veterinary care not just from recent training, but often from their own experience. We are pleased to offer training in surgery, emergency medicine, critical care, diagnostic imaging, hospital management, and herd health.
The World Health Organization and World Organisation for Animal Health, and others, have joined together with the goal of eliminating human rabies deaths by the year 2030. IVH recognizes this goal and seeks to support local and national governments as they work to eliminate the burden of rabies in the human population. The most cost-effective method to accomplish this is mass vaccination of dog populations. IVH supports these efforts and seeks to partner with veterinary needs in remote areas to make this goal achievable.
International Veterinary Health is a not-for-profit organization supported entirely through sponsorships and donations. Be a part of making the planet a healthier place for all of us by supporting the mission of IVH.
